Abstract

This study aims to analyze environmental criminal law enforcement and alternative settlements of environmental criminal cases based on penal mediation, namely the Police and the Prosecutor's Office to corporate parties or industrial players.

This research is a normative-empirical research that analyzes legal materials and the data is described descriptively qualitatively obtained from the results of the literature and questionnaires from the community regarding environmental management and environmental impacts related to Environmental Criminal Law Enforcement analyzing related concepts and theories and concepts so that conclusions can be drawn.

The Police and Prosecutors must enforce the law firmly and consistently. Settlement of environmental crimes cases through penal mediation is relatively simple, fast and low-cost. With the existence of penal mediation as an alternative for solving environmental crimes, it provides the possibility to apply punishments that are more flexible and beneficial to the environment.
